Truffle Hunting Adventure

Experience the Magic of Oregon’s Black Truffles

Embark on an authentic Truffle Hunting Adventure led by expert foragers Ava Chapman and Charles Lefevre. This exclusive experience offers participants a “hands-on” journey, engaging with award-winning Truffle Dog Teams as they search for the elusive Oregon Black Truffles.

An Immersive Foraging Experience

This immersive adventure combines the thrill of foraging with educational insights. As you explore the lush forest of our Pedee Property, you will delve into the fascinating world of truffle ecology. Participants will gain knowledge about the intricate relationship between truffles and their environment, understanding the conditions that foster their growth.

Foraging Techniques and Harvesting Methods

Under the guidance of Ava and Charles, you will learn various foraging techniques to identify and locate truffles effectively. The experienced foragers will demonstrate the best harvesting methods to ensure the truffles are collected without damaging the delicate forest floor. You’ll also gain insights into the proper cleaning and transporting methods to preserve the truffles’ pristine condition.

Interacting with the Truffle Dog Teams

One of the highlights of this adventure is the opportunity to interact with one of our two Truffle Dog Teams. These highly trained dogs are adept at sniffing out the hidden treasures beneath the soil. You can choose to actively participate in digging for truffles alongside the dogs or simply observe and enjoy the remarkable sight of these dogs at work, hunting down the delicious Oregon Black Truffles.

Concluding with a Field Lunch

The foraging experience culminates with a delightful field lunch for all participants. During this time, Charles and Ava will demonstrate how to properly clean and store the harvested truffles, ensuring they are ready for transport home. This lunch provides an excellent opportunity to share stories, ask questions, and savor the fruits of your labor in the serene forest setting.
