Youth Education

Youth Education programs at Hopkins Demonstration Forest are developed and delivered by Oregon State University Extension Service faculty, often in conjunction with partner organizations and a cadre of specially trained volunteers. While hiking in the forest, students may learn about local history and forestry, plant identification and forest measurement, wildlife, orienteering and more. We specialize in providing hands-on, direct experiences with natural resources, with opportunity for students to take an active role in their learning.

Teachers and youth group leaders shape the focus of each field day at Hopkins Demonstration Forest-which can include service projects and alternate curriculum focus such as arts and literature. All grades, ages and youth groups are invited to enjoy an enriching experience in our woodland.
